Tiksi

The seaport of Tiksi is located on the coast of the Laptev Sea near the estuary of the Lena River, on the coast of Tiksi Bay. The port is navigable from the middle of July until the middle of October. It admits vessels with draught of up to 5.6 metres. The seaport owns more than 10 mooring berths with total length of more than 1.5km. Vessels are served both at the berths and at the roads using special floating devices and ships’ loading facilities. OAO Sea Port of Tiksi handles cargoes of local consignees as well as cargoes for the Arctic urban areas situated in the central part of the Arctic and the Yakutsk Region. The main cargoes are commodities, general and construction cargoes, containers, coal, and timber freights. During the summer navigation local passenger transportations are performed.
